ATX Crafted is where authenticity lives:
For The Buyer - Unlike crowded online marketplaces overflowing with mass‑produced imports, ATX Crafted is dedicated solely to showcasing handmade goods from Austin and Central Texas makers. Every product carries the story of its creator — woven, stitched, carved, or forged with care and passion — not churned out by factories overseas. By shopping here, customers know they’re supporting local artisans, sustaining real craftsmanship, and investing in pieces that are built to last. It’s not just shopping; it’s connecting with the creative soul of Texas

For The Artisan - ATX Crafted is built for makers, not mass‑producers. While big platforms bury handmade goods under cheap imports, we shine a spotlight on artisans of Austin and Central Texas. Joining ATX Crafted means your work isn’t lost in the noise — it’s celebrated, curated, and connected directly to shoppers who value authenticity. We keep commissions fair, offer storytelling features to highlight your process, and create opportunities to showcase your goods both online and at local events. This isn’t just another marketplace; it’s a collective built to elevate your craft, grow your audience, and strengthen the creative community you’re part of.
Mission

Our mission is to foster lasting trust — empowering makers with fair representation and honest opportunities, while offering customers a curated experience rooted in quality, story, and community.
Vision
Our vision is to become the most trusted hub for handmade goods in Austin and Central Texas — a place where artisans thrive, shoppers discover with confidence, and the spirit of local craftsmanship is celebrated worldwide. We aspire to redefine online marketplaces by proving that authenticity, transparency, and community can drive meaningful connections, ensuring every transaction strengthens trust between maker and buyer while preserving the integrity of true handmade artistry.
Backstory
As a tech savvy IT professional, who manages a small side business, I created ATX Crafted out of love — love for handmade goods, for Austin’s creative spirit, and for the people who pour their hearts into their craft. As a native Texan and transplanted Austinite, I’ve always been deeply connected to the rhythms of this place: the music that drifts through downtown streets, the festivals that bring communities together, and the artistry that defines Austin’s soul.

The spark for ATX Crafted came while supporting my wife, Emily, an art teacher and the founder of Twisted Motif, her handcrafted business. Watching her balance teaching, parenting, and family with the passion of creating handmade goods through weaving and leather crafting, I saw firsthand the challenges artisans face when trying to share their work online. On platforms like "rhymes with Betsy", hers and others carefully made pieces were lost in a sea of mass‑produced imports. It felt wrong that true craftsmanship had to compete with factory‑made clutter. Not to mention the regulations and restrictions that appeared to only benefit the buyer. We strive to protect both.

That’s when the idea for ATX Crafted took shape: a dedicated space to showcase the makers of Austin and Central Texas, where authenticity isn’t drowned out but celebrated. I envisioned a marketplace that honors the story behind each piece — the hours of weaving, the smell of leather, the pride of a finished work — and connects buyers directly to the artisans who make them.

ATX Crafted is more than a website; it’s a movement to preserve the integrity of handmade goods, to amplify local voices, and to build trust between makers and buyers. It’s my way of giving back to the city I love, supporting Emily and countless other artisans, and ensuring that Austin and Texas' creative heartbeat continues to thrive.
